VisitEngland has released figures revealing the number of domestic overnight holiday trips taken in England in August rose by 13 per cent compared to 2011, with just under eight million trips taken in the month. The latest results from the Great Britain Tourism Survey also show that holiday spend totalled almost £2 billion during August – an increase of 20 per cent compared to the same period last year.
